Meet Pastor Arlene Romaine
Pastor Arlene began serving the English Neighborhood Reformed Church on May 1, 2015. Prior to this, she was Associate Minister for Youth and Families at the Packanack Community Church in Wayne, NJ, and Commissioned Pastor for Christian Discipleship for twelve years at Ponds Reformed Church in Oakland NJ, where she lived and raised a family for twenty-seven years. Arlene grew up in Butler, NJ, and prior to her call to ministry, worked for twenty years as a hairdresser.
Arlene is married, and together with her husband, Ron, provided musical entertainment at healthcare venues throughout northern New Jersey. Together, Pastor Arlene and Ron have six children and ten grandchildren.
Pastor Arlene has a Certificate in Theology from New Brunswick Theological Seminary (2006,) was the first Commissioned Pastor in the Passaic Valley Classis (2007,) and completed her Masters of Divinity Degree at NBTS in December 2022. Arlene has served as Chaplain to both the Ridgefield Ambulance Corps and the Ridgefield Fire Department. She is an active member of the Ecumenical Ridgefield Clergy Group, a member of the Ridgefield Friends of the Library, and has led Ridgefield’s citizens in prayer at many civic observations.
It is Pastor Arlene’s desire to work alongside all of Ridgefield’s leaders, committees, and departments in ensuring the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of its citizens are being met.
